De Red Monstro 8K is de camera met de hoogste resolutie en grootste sensor op de markt. Dit is de eerste Full Frame camera van RED en de enige ter wereld in zo'n kleine body. Door de ruime keuze in lens mounts zijn de lensopties zeer uitgebruid. Ook S35 lenzen zijn hierop te gebruiken, maar dekken niet uit. Je moet op de sensor croppen (en dus resolutie verlagen) om dit werkbaar te krijgen.De Monstro Full Frame sensor is ten opzichte van de Helium 8K Sensor vooral handig omdat je door de grootte van de sensor een nog kleinere scherptediepte kunt behalen dan bij S35. Een ander voordeel is dat de sensor hoger is en Anamorphic lenzen de volle hoogte kunnen gebruiken. Ook kun je zelfs tot 50fps draaien in 8K resolutie.
Naast RAW kan de Monstro 8K ook ProRes intern draaien tot 4K voor offline files als je geen RAW wilt.
