De Arri Amira heeft dezelfde sensor als de Alexa Mini. Het verschil is dat de Amira betere audio inputs heeft (3x XLR ipv 1x 5 pin Lemo), AES 4 sporen kan opnemen, een 16:9 sensor heeft en dus geen Anamorphic kan draaien. Dankzij de Premium licentie is een 4K resolutie ook mogelijk. De Amira is volledig gericht op het draaien van documentaires. Met een minimale setup tijd, ingebouwde ND’s, ergonomische bouw, uitgebreide audio instellingen en veel user buttons werkt de camera vrijwel net zo goed als een klassieke ENG camera. Door de makkelijk verschuifbare tophandle, shoulderpad en EVF kun je de camera snel en gemakkelijk in balans brengen, waardoor de camera uitstekend geschikt wordt voor bijvoorbeeld lange handheld opnamesspecificaties
