De FX3 is de kleinste telg uit de FX serie van Sony. Al deze FX camera's zijn 4K en hebben een Full Frame sensor. De FX3 leent daarvoor een aantal elementen van de A7 fototoestellen, maar is specifiek toegerust voor video opnames. Met de XLR inputs op de handgrip is het ook veel makkelijker om geluid op te nemen. De body is extra stevig en voorzien van mounting points voor gebruik in gimbals en makkelijke montage op lastige plekken. En ook deze kleine is een wizard met zijn autofocus.
