De Red Epic-W 8K heeft, zoals de naam al zegt een S35 sensor met een resolutie van maar liefst 8K! Er zijn tot dusver maar weinig camera's op de markt die zo'n ongelofelijk hoge resolutie aan kunnen. De Helium 8K S35 sensor is ten opzichte van de Epic Dragon een vooruitgang op gebied van kleur, lichtgevoeligheid en dynamisch bereik. De Epic-W is een van de weinige camera's die 150fps in 4K RAW kan draaien en ondanks de hoge resolutie en hoge frame rates zijn de bestanden door de efficiënte RAW compressie ook nog goed te handelen in de post. Naast RAW kan de Helium ook ProRes intern tot 2K draaien.specificaties
